Real Madrid are already planning for the 2026 transfer window, with a clear focus on strengthening their midfield.
According to Defensa Central, the club is keeping a close watch on several potential targets, including Enzo Fernandez, Adam Wharton, and the latest addition, Moises Caicedo.
The Spanish giants are determined to add a new midfield organiser to their squad, and while multiple names have been discussed internally, Caicedo has emerged as a serious option.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder is being assessed for his ability to play deeper, provide defensive cover, and maintain control in the middle of the park – qualities that Real Madrid are looking for to complement their existing setup.
Real Madrid have been thorough in their scouting and transfer planning, particularly since Juni Calafat took a more prominent role in shaping the club’s market strategy.
The approach has become more calculated, with a focus on securing players who can make an immediate impact while also fitting into long-term plans.

The club is confident in its options but remains mindful of squad depth, especially in midfield.
In that regard, Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo are among the players being regularly monitored, showing that Madrid are leaving no stone unturned.
One transfer that is already confirmed is the return of Nico Paz from Como, at a cost of just €10 million, providing further reinforcements for the squad.
Beyond that, Real Madrid plan to sign another midfielder capable of playing deeper, and Caicedo’s name continues to be part of the discussion.
Florentino Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez are reportedly committed to securing the right addition to ensure balance and control in the middle of the park for the 2026-2027 season.
With careful planning and targeted scouting, Los Blancos aim to make decisive moves that strengthen their squad while keeping their long-term vision intact.
