La Liga outfit Valencia have opened legal proceedings against both Netflix and production company ‘Conspiraçao Filmes’.
This comes in response to what has been deemed by Los Che as reputation-damaging content in the documentary ‘Baila, Vini’ – a look inside the life of Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr.
As per a report from Diario AS, those in a position of power at Mestalla have set about securing financial compensation for what has been described as ‘intrusion into the right to honour’.
Valencia initially contacted Netlfix directly in their bid to rectify the situation, but after being ignored, they have taken the matter to court.
Amongst the issues flagged by the Spanish club are the subtitles attributed to their fans during a La Liga meeting between Los Che and Real Madrid back in 2023.
Whilst the crowd chanted ‘stupid’ in the direction of Vinícius, accompanying captions of ‘monkey’ are said to have been attached.
Should the court ruling go in their favour, the Valencia hierarchy are also demanding that the documentary be modified, to include their lawsuit.
