According to Coluna Do Fla, Lucas Paquetá clarified his positional preference after scoring in Flamengo’s 3-1 win over Santos, noting he is most comfortable in central areas.

Since his re-debut, the academy graduate has been used in several roles, even on the right, but he remains ready to play wherever the coach requires.

He added that when deployed wide he tends to move inside and work down the right channel, and that he has often played as a second midfielder, including at the World Cup, with his focus on helping Flamengo.

Against Santos in the 10th round of the Brasileirão, Paquetá came on after the interval as a central playmaker and struck late.

Gonzalo Plata beat two defenders on the right before finding Paquetá, who controlled and lifted his finish into the top corner beyond goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão.
