Former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique is recovering from a broken shoulder after an accident on his bike. His current club, Paris Saint-Germain, announced the incident on social media.
The accident occurred on Friday, and Luis Enrique was taken to the Accident and Emergency department nearby. After diagnosing a broken collarbone, the former Spain manager was prepared for surgery to resolve the fracture.
Those familiar with Luis Enrique will know that he spends no shortage of time on a bike. The Asturian took up mountain biking and road cycling as hobbies after retiring as a player, and regularly goes on long rides to disconnect in his spare time.

Famously, Luis Enrique once announced the Spain squad during his time as the national team manager while on a bike. He did so alongside Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador, with the former Celta Vigo closely connected with the rich cycling tradition in the North of Spain.
Before his press conference on Saturday got underway, Spain manager Luis de la Fuente took a moment to send a message to his predecessor.
“I want to send a hug and my best wishes for a speedy recovery to Luis Enrique. All my support,” de la Fuente told Diario AS from Turkiye, as La Roja prepare for their second World Cup qualifier.
PSG have a clash with Barcelona on the horizon, which will see no shortage of links between the two renewed. Luis Enrique of course won the treble as manager at Barcelona, and Ousmane Dembele was also scheduled to be back up against is former club, the club of his dreams as he puts it, but he has also suffered an injury. He is now set to miss the clash, which as it stands will be at Camp Nou. If it is not ready in time, then Barcelona will host the match at Montjuic.
