Pavlidis converts stoppage-time penalty as Benfica rescue point | OneFootball

Benfica 2-2 Braga at the Luz as Evangelos Pavlidis' stoppage time penalty salvaged a draw and saw the hosts slip from second to third in Liga Portugal.

Rafa Silva opened the scoring in the 46th minute with a right-footed finish. Moments later Pau Victor headed in from Victor Gomez's cross (48.).

After the hour, Evangelos Pavlidis had a goal overturned by VAR (65.).

Jean-Baptiste Gorby then drilled Braga ahead from outside the box (88.), fed by Mario Dorgeles.

In second half stoppage time Andreas Schjelderup drew a foul from Vitor Carvalho for a penalty. VAR confirmed the spot kick, and Pavlidis converted in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time.

The Águias pressed throughout, posting 24 attempts with eight on target. Braga managed five attempts, and Lukas Hornicek's six saves were vital.
