South African forward Percy Tau scored his first goal in the Vietnamese V.League 1 as his team, Nam Dinh, settled for a 1-1 draw with Hong Linh Ha Tinh on Monday.
The 31-year-old Witbank native opened the scoring with a curler into the bottom corner in the fourth minute, before Balotelli scored an equaliser deep in stoppage time for the visitors.
As a result, Nam Dinh, the defending champions, are one point above the relegation zone as they sit 10th with 12 points from 12 league outings in the 14-team championship.
Meanwhile, Tau has now contributed to three assists and one goal in 17 matches across all competitions this season.
The former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker signed for the Vietnamese title holders in August 2025, putting pen to paper on a one-year deal that's set to expire in June 2026.
It remains to be seen whether he will be retained upon the expiry of his contract, as he looks to make his way back into the Bafana fold ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
On the other hand, compatriot Njabulo Blom, who also joined Nam Dinh in August last year, is yet to make his debut, having sustained a long-term injury.
