Chelsea take on Everton today, knowing that nothing but 3 points is good enough. It’s going to be a tough away match against a spirited side, and Liam Rosenior is really up against it.

So who do we expect to line up for such an important game?

Chelsea’s predicted XI to face Everton

The goalkeeper decision has been made easy by Filip Jorgensen’s surgery. Robert Sanchez will stay between the sticks.

In defence, Malo Gusto should have recovered from his injury and be fit enough to start. Centrally, an injury to Trevoh Chalobah means Wesley Fofana will have to come back in. We’re not sure who plays with him, given Mamadou Sarr made a big mistake in midweek. We fear it will be Tosin to deal with Everton’s aerial threat. Marc Cucurella will surely be risked at left back, although he’s pushing his luck since his return from a minor injury.

In midfield, Moises Caicedo is a cert, despite fading form. Today might be the day that Romeo Lavia starts alongside him, possibly bumping Andrey Santos from the team.

Enzo Fernandez will play in attacking midfield, with Pedro Neto on one side and Cole Palmer on the other.

Joao Pedro leads the line.

Many would argue that there’s a case for dropping Palmer, Caicedo or Enzo just to give them a break. But in a game this big, Rosenior just can’t risk it.
