Following another weekend of top-flight action, it’s time for our Premier League Team of the Week, featuring names from Everton, Manchester City and Fulham.

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford – Everton

Undone by deflections for Newcastle’s two goals, but came up trumps late on with one of the saves of the season.

Incredible reactions from Pickford kept out Sandro Tonali’s thumper as Everton earned another hard-fought win on the road. The ex-Sunderland man will have enjoyed this one.

Right-back: Jurrien Timber – Arsenal

A determined defensive performance from the Dutchman, who had Pedro Neto’s number. Timber got his reward for his efforts with a vital winner in Arsenal’s title chase, arriving in the area to meet Declan Rice’s delivery.

Centre-back: Yerson Mosquera – Wolves

Like many in a Wolves shirt, Mosquera has had his critics this season, but this was better. The Colombian claimed a clean sheet against Aston Villa with some astute defending, winning six ground duels, four tackles, and making one goal-line clearance. Much improved.

Centre-back: Jarrad Branthwaite – Everton

Let’s forget about that left-back experiment, Mr Moyes. Jarrad Branthwaite is Everton’s best defender and needs to be at the heart of the backline. A towering header at Newcastle capped a near faultless performance at St James’ Park.

Left-back: Rayan Ait-Nouri – Manchester City

The summer signing is growing into his role at Manchester City. Full of adventure from full-back, Ait-Nouri’s silky footwork saw him weave a route down the left all night against Leeds. Set up the decisive goal with a brilliant ball into danger for Antoine Semenyo.

Midfield: Alex Iwobi – Fulham

A sublime side-foot finish ended up being Fulham’s winner against Tottenham, the highlight moment from another all-action Iwobi outing.

The Nigerian completed 100% of his dribbles (2/2) and long passes (5/5) and did not lose a single duel all game (6/6). Outstanding.

Midfield: Mikkel Damsgaard – Brentford

Ran the show at Burnley in one of the most chaotic games of the campaign. A rare header put Brentford ahead in Turf Moor, before turning provider for the clinical Igor Thiago. Burnley mounted an incredible comeback from three goals down to level, only for Damsgaard to provide the dagger to the heart with a late winner.

Midfield: Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United

Recovered from a slow start to provide the moments of quality that Manchester United needed. Confidently sent Dean Henderson the wrong way from the penalty spot for the equaliser, before his arcing cross picked out Benjamin Sesko for the winner.

Right-wing: Harry Wilson – Fulham

Harry Wilson’s wonderful campaign continued with a match-winning outing against Spurs. The Welshman volleyed Fulham in front at Craven Cottage and set up Alex Iwobi for the winner. It’s now 16 goals and assists for Wilson, whose contract is up in the summer. Expect a queue at his door.

Left-wing: Rayan Cherki – Manchester City

Pep Guardiola called Rayan Cherki’s performance at Leeds his ‘best’ in a Manchester City shirt, and while it lacked the wow-factor of past performances, it was one where his quality was key. A defence-splitting pass created the only goal in a vital 1-0 win at Elland Road.

Forward: Hugo Ekitike – Liverpool

Answered Arne Slot’s call for more goals with an early opener against West Ham, firing in his 16th of the campaign at Anfield.

The Frenchman set up Alexis Mac Allister with a lovely cushioned pass and added another, simpler assist for Cody Gakpo’s goal. A good afternoon for Ekitike as Liverpool looked more like their old selves.
