Barcelona beat Elche 3-1 in an evening filled with energy, redemption, and self-reflection.
Marcus Rashford, who found the back of the net and was later named MVP of the match, earned a standing ovation from the fans as he was substituted near the end.
Yet, despite the praise, the English forward remained grounded and openly critical of his own display.
Speaking after the game, Rashford admitted that there was still room for improvement, saying,
“I try to give my best. I could have done better against Elche, and I promise to improve, but I’m happy overall with my performance.”
The forward, currently on loan from Manchester United, also highlighted the importance of bouncing back after a defeat, noting,
“It’s a very important victory. It’s always important, after a defeat, to win the next game; that’s the most important thing.”

When asked about his growing chemistry with teammates, Rashford explained what drives his attacking mindset.
“In my opinion, if I do things right on the field and with the team, I will always be able to score and create goals.
“My goal is to connect with my teammates and feel in tune with them, and that’s exactly how I feel right now.”
From a collective perspective, he underlined the team’s determination and focus, saying,
“This is Barça and the demands must always be high. It’s true that we have numerous injuries, but this is football, and the same eleven players won’t win every game.
“We must continue to play as a single team and show fighting spirit and unity.”

Meanwhile, Ferran Torres, who also scored in the match, echoed Rashford’s sentiments about starting strong and rediscovering the team’s intensity.
After the final whistle, he said, “It was important to start strongly, get ahead and play the game we wanted to play.”
Reflecting on the team’s overall play, Torres said, “Perhaps we weren’t as accurate as we should have been in some plays, but we found the spirit and intensity.
“I think we’re finding the Barça of last season, when we were all over the pitch from the start. We needed to rediscover the joy of playing.”
Discussing his own contribution, the 25-year-old smiled when asked about his milestone goal, which was his 50th for the club.
“I’m very happy to have scored. I try to help the team. I didn’t know that, but I’m very happy. There will be many more goals to come,” he concluded.
