The international break is over, and the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga has its final matchday before Christmas this weekend. To conclude a memorable calendar year for our FC Red Bull Salzburg Women, First Vienna FC will be our guests at the Liefering Saalachspitz on Saturday at 13:00. Admission is free.
We are welcoming last season's fourth-place finishers to the Red Bull Football Academy. Even though the first encounter ended 2-0 in favour of the Blue and Yellows, and we're therefore eager for revenge, our team has had a more successful season so far. This is partly because the Viennese side has been extremely inconsistent, only going two league matches unbeaten once – in mid-September. They also have the second-weakest away record in the top flight.

With the momentum from our victory in the Austrian Women's Cup Round of 16 against Wacker Innsbruck – our competitive opener in 2026 is in mid-February in the quarter-finals against FC Blau-Weiß Linz/Kleinmünchen – and the lessons learned from our recent defeat against reigning champions St. Pölten, we aim to bring our special inaugural year to a fitting close. For those watching from home, ÖFB TV will broadcast the match.
Vienna showed us in the first game how effective they can be. We learned a lot from that match. We've progressed further in our development, physically, tactically, and mentally. This game is an opportunity for us to confirm our progress. We'll go into the match with respect, but also with the confidence we've built up this season.
