Real Madrid’s managerial situation continues to be dubious. The administration retain faith in Alvaro Arbeloa to see the team through this season, but there continue to be doubts over the long term future.
The likes of Jurgen Klopp, on that front, have been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid to stabilise the club and restore it to its former glory.
Chelsea’s ex-manager Enzo Maresca has also seen his name linked with the Valdebebas, as have some of the former club managers including Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho.
Now, as relayed by Defensa Central, Real Madrid and Florentino Perez see the name of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as promising as a long-term option for the club.

The Spanish tactician has taken his time to get his ideas through, but Arsenal have slowly re-established themselves as a potent threat and have been one of Europe’s most well-oiled teams this season.
Arteta’s contract with Arsenal runs out in June 2027, and there have been no talks of an extension yet. While all signs do point to Arsenal going for the renewal, there is no progress at the moment and Real Madrid could well strike soon.
Los Blancos, however, are not the only club interested in the manager for Barcelona and Manchester City also have him on their table as a possible long-term appointment. The path for Real Madrid, thus, is not clear.
Considering how Arteta has spent the better part of a decade in London and the project is not beginning to bear fruit, it would be unlikely for him to leave at this point. The links with Real Madrid, thus, may just be in very rudimentary stages that do not progress.
