According to a report from AS, it has been learned that Real Madrid are closely monitoring Dean Huijsen’s recovery, with concerns growing over his readiness for the upcoming El Clasico.

It must be noted that the summer arrival suffered a calf injury against Villarreal on October 4 and was subsequently released from Spain’s national team training camp due to fatigue.

While the injury is classified as minor, the recovery process has proven delicate.

Setback confirmed – Huijsen out for Getafe

What is certain is that Huijsen will miss Real Madrid’s clash against Getafe and the club has confirmed this.

He continues to work on his recovery through gym sessions and specialised physical therapy.

The team is cautious about setting expectations, as simply being available for selection is not enough.

It goes without saying that he needs to be fully fit, ideally at 200%, to handle the intensity of a match like El Clasico.

Notably, the club initially estimated the injury would sideline him for 12-15 days. Given the timeline, there were 18 days between his recovery start and the first Clasico date, which provided hope.

However, soleus injuries are notoriously tricky, and even a small delay can turn a recovery into absolute chaos.

El Clasico remains uncertain

While Huijsen has a good chance of featuring in the El Clasico and potentially the upcoming match against Juventus, Real Madrid cannot guarantee it.

The risk of relapse is higher for this type of injury, and reducing it to zero by October 26 is a significant challenge.

For now, the club is exercising caution, balancing optimism with prudence.

We will have to wait until closer to the match to see whether Huijsen can return to action, but his absence against Getafe is the only certainty in an otherwise uncertain recovery timeline.
