The future of Vinicius Jr. continues to dominate discussions at Real Madrid. 

With his current contract set to expire in 2027, the club intends to make a definitive decision regarding his long-term future by the end of the 2025/26 season. 

However, talks over an extension have reached a deadlock, largely due to the forward’s high salary demands and that impasse has not gone unnoticed elsewhere in Europe.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has personally requested the signing of the Real Madrid superstar. 

The Catalan coach, who already sanctioned over €165 million worth of transfers last summer, is reportedly keen on adding the Brazilian star to his attacking unit. 

Guardiola sees Vinicius as a player capable of bringing flair, unpredictability, and pace to City’s front line, qualities that would perfectly complement his possession-based system.

There could be offers for him soon

The report highlights that Vinicius could soon be the subject of a lucrative offer to leave Spain, as Saudi Arabian clubs remain attentive to his situation.

They had already shown direct interest during the summer of 2024 and 2025, and could reignite their pursuit should his renewal talks continue to stall.

In recent weeks, the 25-year-old has faced intense scrutiny. Following his visible frustration when substituted during El Clasico, many turned their criticism towards him, painting him as a potential problem inside the Real Madrid dressing room.

Still, the relationship between Vinicius and the club remains strong. As reported before, despite the financial difference, talks regarding a renewal are on track.

In fact, Florentino Perez has never contemplated selling one of his key stars. For all the noise surrounding his future, Madrid continue to view Vinicius as one of the faces of their next era.
