A recent revelation from Defensa Central has suggested that Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring the situation of Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
It is said that despite their domestic dominance, the French champions have struggled to find the same level of solidity at the back this season.
With that in mind, the Parisian club is reportedly ready to make a major move to secure an experienced leader, and Rudiger has emerged as a serious option.
With Rudiger, who is also wanted by Galatarasay, approaching the end of his contract, he could arrive in Paris as a free agent.
The club’s ownership is fully aware of this opportunity and, according to the report, are prepared to offer the German defender a very lucrative contract to convince him to finish his career in Ligue 1.
The phrase being used is that PSG would have a “blank cheque” available to secure his services, underlining just how determined they are to land him.

Age and fitness, however, remain central to the discussion. Rudiger will turn 33 in March, and the past year has not been easy from a physical standpoint.
He recently underwent surgery for a partial tear of the lateral meniscus in his left knee.
From Madrid’s side, there is awareness that time is not on their side. While Rudiger’s experience is valued, doubts remain over committing to a new contract.
This hesitation could open the door further for PSG to step in decisively, as Luis Enrique is believed to be playing an important role.
At PSG, the proposed salary would not only surpass what Rudiger currently earns at Real Madrid, but it could also exceed what Los Blancos would realistically consider for a renewal.
