Strasbourg’s academy standouts Samir El Mourabet and Abdoul Ouattara are regulars under Liam Rosenior yet sit well below the club’s top earners.
According to L'Équipe, El Mourabet has played 37 matches and 2,410 minutes this season, matched only by Joaquin Panichelli among outfield players, yet he does not feature in Strasbourg’s top 10 salaries.
The 20-year-old Moroccan midfielder has received his first Atlas Lions call-up and earns an estimated €50,000 to €60,000 a month.
Trained at the club, he was released, tried futsal, returned, signed his first professional deal in May 2024 and earned a raise in November.
Now Ligue 1’s leading tackler in 2026, his contract runs to 2030 and places him around 15th on the wage ladder, alongside close friend Ouattara, far below a Mathis Amougou on around €200,000.
Ouattara, from Niederschaeffolsheim, had a first Ligue 1 teamsheet under Julien Stéphan in March 2022 at 16 years and 135 days, suffered serious knee and ankle injuries, and signed his first professional contract in June 2023 amid firm Hertha Berlin interest.
Aged 20, he made 17 Ligue 1 appearances in 2024-25 and extended his deal in December 2024. He has three years left, no talks are under way, and he earns about €50,000 a month.
That situation has drawn interest, notably in Germany and in England, where his profile appears suited to the Premier League. Strasbourg, who benefit from his versatility, stability and intensity, must be wary.
