Teddy Sheringham has tipped Morgan Gibbs-White as an ideal Manchester United target if Bruno Fernandes leaves Old Trafford.

Fernandes has been outstanding this season and central to United's push for a Champions League return, yet his long-term future remains uncertain. He rejected Saudi Pro League offers last summer while club chiefs were willing to cash in, and fresh bids are expected, with pressure on United to improve his deal, which they have so far resisted.

"I would probably say Morgan Gibbs-White," Teddy Sheringham said, speaking to Oddschecker.

"I think Tottenham could have done with getting him when they tried at the end of last season." "I was quite excited about that prospect at the time for Tottenham." "I think he's one that plays with real grit and that he wants to show people what he can do on the pitch."

"He's also got a very good engine." "I think his desire is there for all to see, to become a better player, and I think he would be at a bigger club." "He would fit in nicely alongside the United players there."

Gibbs-White, 26, signed a new deal at the City Ground after opting against Spurs last summer and has been in fine form recently. Forest have little intention of selling, particularly with midfield partner Elliot Anderson attracting strong interest, with Manchester City said to be leading the race.
