Leicester City head into the summer window with a revamped set-up, targeting a different market as they prepare for League One. Summer trading starts 15 June.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, a rebuild is expected before the window shuts at the start of September, with sales likely. Ricardo Pereira, Jordan Ayew, Patson Daka and Jamaal Lascelles, who made 139 appearances last season, have already confirmed exits.
The club, relegated in successive seasons and set for only their second spell in the third tier, has overhauled leadership. Kevin Davies has been promoted from finance director to chief executive, replacing Susan Whelan, after boardroom changes in March.
Transfer sign-offs rest with Chief Football Officer Jon Rudkin, Sporting Director James McCarron and Head of Recruitment Martyn Glover, with chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha also involved. Rudkin moved into his new role earlier this year.
McCarron joined from the City Football Group after previous stints with Sunderland, Belgian side Lommel and the Premier League. His brief is to shape player identification and recruitment alongside Glover.
Input is expected from the head coach. Gary Rowett is currently in post, although his future has not been confirmed.
Rowett has said the squad needs greater balance and versatility, and more athletic qualities, and more athletic qualities. He argued some running metrics are influenced by style, noted the team is not naturally highly athletic, and wants levels to rise over time while retaining the ability to press, keep the ball and transition.
