FC Bayern is sending out a strong signal in women’s soccer: Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson, two absolute leading players, have signed long-term extensions. The decision underlines the ambitious goals of the Munich-based club at national and international level

FC Bayern continues to push ahead with its long-term planning in women’s soccer, focusing on continuity and quality. The club has officially announced that Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson have extended their contracts until June 30, 2028, meaning that two of the most influential personalities of recent years will remain central pillars of the Munich women’s team in the future

Harder and Eriksson moved to the Isar together in 2023 and have since played a decisive role in further stabilizing FC Bayern Women nationally and raising their profile internationally. In the past two seasons, they have celebrated two German championships, a DFB Cup win and two Super Cup titles with the team – a track record that impressively underlines their importance to the team

Bianca Rech speaks of an „exclamation mark“

Bianca Rech, Director of Women’s Football at FC Bayern, described the contract extensions as a conscious signal both internally and externally. The decision is not only a gift to the fans, but also a clear commitment to the club’s sporting direction. Harder and Eriksson stand for professionalism, strong leadership and identification with the club

While Eriksson takes on responsibility as a communicative leader in defense, Harder, according to Rech, impresses above all with her calm, consistent manner and her enormous quality in attacking play. Together, they embody precisely the mentality with which FC Bayern wants to maintain its leading position in Germany and take the next step in Europe

Harder and Eriksson with clear goals

Pernille Harder made it clear that the decision to stay was an easy one for her. The team has developed strongly over the past two and a half years, but the existing potential is far from exhausted. The Dane particularly emphasised the family environment at FC Bayern, which made her feel at home from day one. Her personal goal remains clearly formulated: further titles in the Bundesliga and the cup as well as a serious attack on the Champions League

Magdalena Eriksson also looks back on her time in Munich with great satisfaction – and full of motivation for the future. The Swedish international now describes the Bavarian capital as her home, supported by the team, the city and the fans. Her ambition is to achieve everything together with the team, both nationally and internationally, and to invest the maximum every day.
