Unai and Santamaria left at home, César Tárrega is Valencia’s only centre-back | OneFootball

According to AS, Unai Núñez did not travel to Mallorca. Baptiste Santamaría, the Frenchman, was a late withdrawal and also stayed behind.

The only specialist centre-back available is César Tárrega. One of Carlos Corberán’s favoured academy options, Alejandro Panach, is also injured.

Corberán has worked on using Pepelu at centre-back and has called up Rubén Iranzo to the first team.

Pepelu has fallen out of the starting line-up since Guido arrived in January. He has filled in at centre-back before, including in the last match against Elche when he replaced the injured Cömert.

Valencia’s medical staff advised against including Núñez due to a muscle problem, and he remains in discomfort. The absences leave Corberán without three of his four centre-backs to face Muriqi, with Copete, Cömert and Unai all unavailable. The club prefer not to risk a relapse that could end his season, with about a month of competition remaining.
