Vinicius: Man United planning to make risky move for Real Madrid superstar | OneFootball

Manchester United are among a host of heavyweights keeping an eye on Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, Vinicius stepped up and steadily established himself as Real’s most potent forward, leading Los Blancos to two Champions League trophies. 

However, the arrival of Kylian Mbappe at Santiago Bernabeu has pushed the Brazilian slightly away from the spotlight.

Vinicius walking on thin ice

Vinicius is no longer viewed as Real’s best attacker and has lost his status as an untouchable starter. Further, Xabi Alonso frequently hooks off the 25-year-old.

Most recently, Vinicius expressed his frustration at being taken off in the 72nd minute against Barcelona. He later apologised for his reaction.

Moreover, contract talks between Real and his camp appear to have stagnated due to disagreement over the Brazil international’s salary. The current deal runs until 2027. 

Manchester United interested in Vinicius

According to Fichajes, Real could be forced to take action if the situation doesn’t improve. 

The Spanish outlet claim United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are “closely monitoring” Vinicius amid growing tension in Madrid.

It is suggested Premier League clubs, including United, want to strengthen their attack with the “game-changing player”.

Vinicius is certainly one of the best wingers in Europe, having bagged five goals and four assists in 10 appearances in all competitions despite his predicament under Alonso.

However, United spent £62.5 million in the summer to sign his fellow countryman, Matheus Cunha, to play on the left side of the attack. Cunha has been an electric presence on the United flank so far.

The Red Devils could do with more depth in that area, but another high-profile attacking addition shouldn’t be on their list of priorities, considering other gaping holes in Ruben Amorim’s squad.
