What Jude Bellingham claims he said to referee before red card during Real Madrid’s clash with Osasuna | OneFootball

An insight into the reasoning behind the red card shown to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham on Saturday has been forthcoming online.

The name of midfielder Bellingham has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain this afternoon.

As much comes after the England international was at the heart of one of the more bizarre incidents of the La Liga season to date.

Late in the first-half of Real Madrid’s meeting with Osasuna, Bellingham, out of the blue, was shown a straight red card.

This came after a verbal exchange between the 21-year-old, and referee Jose Munuera.

The assumption, in turn, was that Bellingham had directed some form of explicit insult at the man overseeing the action at El Sadar.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then this in fact was not the case.

As per a report from José Luis Sánchez of El Chiringuito TV, Bellingham, after returning to the dressing room, made clear that all he had said to referee Munuera was:

“If this is a foul, that is a penalty.”
