The referral of former AS Monaco player and former France forward Wissam Ben Yedder to a criminal court over alleged rape has been annulled on appeal for lack of sufficient evidence.
According to AFP, the investigation chamber of the Aix-en-Provence Court of Appeal quashed, in a ruling dated 26 February, the three November 2025 order that had sent him to trial for rape and attempted rape.

The chamber decided there was no need to prosecute him, contrary to the submissions of the prosecutor general’s office.
The overturned order had referred the case to the Alpes-Maritimes criminal court.
The appeal decision means proceedings before that court will not go ahead on the quashed allegations.
