According to L'Équipe, the investigation chamber of the Aix-en-Provence appeal court on Thursday quashed the order sending Wissam Ben Yedder and his brother Sabri before the Alpes-Maritimes departmental criminal court.

The ruling overturned the three November indictment for rape and attempted rape against the former France international, and said there was no case to prosecute him. Ben Yedder has 19 caps and three goals.

At a 22 January hearing, the prosecutor general sought confirmation of the referral, as did the civil parties' lawyers, but the court did not uphold those requests.

Ben Yedder’s lawyer, Sophia Kerbaa, said she was very happy for her client and satisfied, adding the court had been persuaded by her presentation on both facts and law. Sabri Ben Yedder’s counsel, Laure Diu-Lambrechts, said her client, who has always maintained his innocence, was extremely relieved and argued the investigating judge had misread the case file.

Since leaving Monaco in summer 2024, Ben Yedder joined Sepahan SC in April 2025 in Iran, playing six matches and scoring one. He moved to Sakaryaspor in September 2025 in Türkiye's second tier, making 14 appearances and scoring five.

In January, the 35-year-old forward signed a six-month deal with Wydad Athletic Club in Casablanca. He has so far featured in five games and scored one goal, with the club currently second in the league.
