Wolves reject Leeds United approach for Jorgen Strand Larsen

Wolves have rejected a £33m offer from Leeds United for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen (25), underlining their determination to protect value despite a difficult season on and off the pitch for the Norway international.

The bid, submitted earlier this month and containing a further £6m in add-ons, according to reports from BBC Sport, fell short of Wolves’ valuation, which is understood to be closer to £40m. While the club are open to selling before the transfer window closes on 2 February, there is no urgency to force a departure, and Strand Larsen remains part of Rob Edwards’ plans in the short term.

Signed permanently last summer after a productive loan spell from Celta Vigo, Strand Larsen scored 14 goals last season but has struggled to replicate that form in the Premier League. Only one of his six goals this campaign has come in the league, contributing to Wolves’ precarious position at the foot of the table.

Edwards has publicly praised the striker’s attitude and professionalism amid the speculation, insisting Wolves are under no pressure to sell unless a deal is right for the club. Nevertheless, with relegation looming and tensions with supporters growing, a move before the deadline remains possible.

Leeds are not alone in their interest, with Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Crystal Palace also monitoring the situation, while Wolves continue broader talks over potential outgoing deals as they look to reshape their squad for the run-in.
