Wolverhampton Wanderers have lodged a deal sheet with the Premier League as they look to complete the late signing of Southampton forward Adam Armstrong, with Sky Sports reporting the move is in its final stages.
The window closed at seven pm, but the submission allows an additional two hours to finish the transfer. Armstrong is Southampton's top scorer.
Armstrong joined Southampton in 2021 from Blackburn Rovers and struggled in the Premier League under Ralph Hasenhüttl. He scored 21 goals in 2023/24, then added three in the play-offs, including the winner in the final against Leeds United.
If Wolves are relegated at the end of the season, they would be adding proven Championship quality in Armstrong.
Meanwhile, DAZN Canada reports Cyle Larin has completed his medical ahead of a move to Southampton from RCD Mallorca. The Canada international has been on loan at Feyenoord, failing to score in eight matches.
Larin, 30, is a tall centre-forward who wins his share of aerial duels and links play, and he is in the top 25% of Eredivisie strikers for touches. Southampton may not be adding a prolific goalscorer, but he could contribute in other ways.
