A world-class winger has sent the ultimate come and get me plea to Liverpool.

Let's be honest with the signing of Jeremy Jacquet, the club has pretty much sorted its defence for the next few years. Unless, of course Ibrahima Konate doesn't extend his contract.

In that case, Liverpool will need to bring in further reinforcements. Long-term there's still room to grow and the biggest question of them all will be finding a replacement for Virgil van Dijk when he ultimately runs down his deal in 2027.

But short-term, heading into the summer window, there is going to be only one focus on Richard Hughes' mind to begin with.

Liverpool's greatest weakness this season hasn't been the club's defensive line. Sure that has had its issues. But ultimately, Liverpool are struggling because of a lack of depth in attack.

More specifically a lack of speed and one vs one ability.

With the loss of Luis Diaz, it's only Rio Ngumoha who brings that side of the game on the flanks.

So, this summer, Hughes will need to sign at least one winger. If Mo Salah leaves, that need doubles.

Liverpool will need at least two wingers if the Egyptian is sold. Right now, the market is a difficult one to navigate.

There aren't many world-class wingers with those traits. Those that are playing at the highest level like Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Lamine Yamal and Michael Olise are pretty much going to be impossible to sign.

There is another player though who is on par with them. Yan Diomande has been pretty much world-class this season. He's an elite dribbler, averaging 4.6 successful dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga right now.

On top of that the Ivorian also has averaged 0.79 goal contributions per 90 minutes. That's a really high return for a player who isn't playing in one of Germany's best teams right now. Leipzig are only fifth in the league.

Yet Diomande continues to impress and he seems like the perfect option for Liverpool. Given the strong relationship and synergy between Red Bull and Liverpool, it's a move that would make complete sense.

It looks like the move would be one Diomande would be open to. We recently wrote about his come and get me plea to Liverpool with his confession of the Reds being his dream club.

Well, Diomande has just doubled down on this interview in Bild.

Speaking to the German outlet he was asked about those quotes and he clarified his statement:

“People made it out to be my dream club, but first and foremost, it’s my dad’s favourite club," Diomande said.

“It was always his great wish to see me play there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield.

“He always raved about Steven Gerrard. I was too young to see him play. We didn’t even have a TV at home for a long time.

“I have a lot of respect for Liverpool, but my dream club right now is Leipzig.”

It's a more respectful way of answering the question but it also confirms Diomande's previous statement in which he said: “I’m a big fan of Liverpool because my father’s dream is to see me play at Anfield, so that’s my dream.

“You know, to fulfil my father’s dream is a dream for me too.”

So, ultimately it looks like that dream really does exist. Diomande's latest comments are just yet another come and get me plea to Liverpool.

Richard Hughes will undoubtedly be listening. When it comes to winger options on the market, Diomande is the world-class target. He stands out above the rest. He is the one Liverpool have to sign. It's as simple as that.

Time to make his father's dream come true.
