Jake Bidwell will surely leave Coventry City this summer if they are to be promoted
It's been an exceptional season from Coventry City, who have once again cemented their place at the top of the league following a dip in form which saw them win just two out of eight league games throughout December and the beginning of January.
Under the guidance of former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard, the Sky Blues have emerged as the favourites for the league title this campaign.
Despite a tricky festive period which saw their lead at the summit cut by Middlesbrough, Coventry have bounced back emphatically and shown the signs of champions by once again creating a gap at the top of the table.
Their defence has been one of the most solid parts of their squad both literally and figuratively, with Carl Rushworth holding down his place in net, Milan Van Ewijk at right-back, Bobby Thomas and Liam Kitching more often than not in the heart of defence, and Jay Dasilva at left-back.
Joel Latibeaudiere has come into the side in recent weeks to replace Kitching, though aside from that, their defence has remained relatively unchanged on a game-by-game basis, apart from the odd change here and there.
Welsh left-back Dasilva has nailed down his spot at left-back under Lampard, leaving one veteran out in the cold, and if the Sky Blues do go on to achieve promotion this season, it's hard to see a world where he stays at the CBS Arena.

32-year-old left-back Jake Bidwell has seen his game time slashed at Coventry this season, with his game time having slowly decreased season-upon-season since arriving from Swansea City in January 2022.
In his first full season at the club, under Mark Robins, Bidwell was an ever-present figure on the left side of defence, making 45 league appearances for the Sky Blues, scoring once and grabbing four assists.
However, that has just about been his pinnacle in Coventry colours, as the Everton academy graduate has seen his game time slowly decrease each passing year, to the point where he has racked up just over 250 minutes of league football this season as we approach March.
With Dasilva firmly ahead of him in the pecking order, and Miguel Angel Brau also offering competition in the same position, it's no surprise to see the Englishman's game time at the CBS Arena take a huge hit.
If Coventry is indeed a Premier League club next season, improvement will likely be made throughout the squad, including at left-back, meaning Bidwell may not even be second or even third choice anymore.
33 at the end of the season, Bidwell's current deal at Coventry isn't due to expire until the summer of 2027, though it's unlikely that Lampard or the club would begrudge him a move should he angle for one.
With his game time in the Championship far from stable, it's incredibly unlikely that it would improve upon Coventry's promotion, with an exit from the club this summer the most obvious avenue if he is to find some more game time.

Frank Lampard will have one key target in his sights this season as he aims to end Coventry's 25-year absence from the Premier League.
The Sky Blues were quick out of the blocks to begin the season, scoring goals for fun and blowing teams out of the water, but as the season has progressed, the goals have slowed down, and they've been forced to find different avenues on their way to victory.
They've shown the signs of champions at numerous points of the season, all without the presence of Bidwell on the pitch, with it being unlikely that the full-back will have much of a part to play for the rest of the campaign.
Should they end their wait for top flight football this time around, then Bidwell almost certainly won't be joining them next year.
