2026 World Cup: fresh twist in French TV rights saga!

Not long ago, FIFA announced an initial agreement with Ligue1+ for broadcasting the 2026 World Cup in France (June 11 to July 19). However, beIN SPORTS managed to counter with a better proposal to take the lead. This was reported by L’Equipe and confirmed by RMC Sport.

An offer on two World Cups to assert dominance.

“As explained by L’Equipe and confirmed by RMC Sport, beIN Sports indeed secured the (premium) rights for the World Cup held in Canada, the United States, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19 next year. And while FIFA had validated an agreement worth 20 million euros with Ligue1+, beIN Sports managed to be more convincing to the organization led by Gianni Infantino, who should soon officially announce the news via a statement. Ultimately, with an offer covering the next two World Cup editions (2026 and 2030), the Qatari channel clinched the deal.”

It’s a surprise, Ligue1+ seemed to have sealed a big deal. But beIN SPORTS managed to react to resume its “usual” broadcasting in France by securing the rights for all matches. This will be the case for this World Cup, as well as the one in 2030. Unless there is another surprise, this matter is full of them and there is no official announcement yet.
