It did seem yesterday that Pep Guardiola was annoyed at the situation surrounding Oscar Bobb. The Manchester City manager revealed that Bobb had informed him that he wasn’t fit enough to feature in Manchester City’s Champions League league phase fixture against Bodø/Glimt tonight. Guardiola also told the media he was unsure if Bobb would leave City during the January transfer window. Now it has been reported that Fulham are in negotiations with Manchester City to sign Oscar Bobb. It seems that Bobb could be on the verge of leaving City in a move that could be perfect for the young winger.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Fulham and Manchester City are in negotiations over a deal that would see Oscar Bobb sign for Marco Silva’s side on a permanent basis. Furthermore, Romano reports that a proposal from Fulham worth around £35 million is being discussed between the two clubs. Lastly, Romano adds that Borussia Dortmund remain eager to sign Oscar Bobb. The Bundesliga side is set to make a decision imminently on whether or not they’ll move for the Norwegian international.

Oscar Bobb does seem to need a move away from Manchester City to further his young career. He has fallen down the pecking order in Pep Guardiola’s squad this season. Injuries and a drop in his performances when given an opportunity have hampered the young winger. The January arrival of Antoine Semenyo has pushed Bobb even further down the pecking order. So a January move may be the best option for him. A move to a club like Fulham could be perfect for Oscar Bobb to play regular minutes in a team that plays attractive football.
Marco Silva’s side typically plays attractive football, and Oscar Bobb should slot in well with their squad. Bobb’s technical ability and ability to play in tight spaces seem to be tailor-made for the Fulham lineup. Bobb would have to fight for a place in Fulham’s starting lineup, but a move to Marco Silva’s side does seem ideal for Bobb if it eventuates.
It appeared yesterday that Pep Guardiola had provided a clue about Oscar Bobb’s future. Guardiola’s mood when asked about Bobb’s future seemed to suggest a January move for Bobb could be imminent. It now looks like Fulham have made their move to sign the Norwegian international. A move to Fulham may be ideal for Bobb, and it will be interesting to see if the move happens. Oscar Bobb needs an opportunity to stake his claim away from Manchester City. That could come if Fulham and City can agree terms on a deal to send Oscar Bobb to Craven Cottage.
