Bojan Miovski’s Ibrox debut against Celtic gave Rangers fans a glimpse of what the North Macedonian can offer. His arrival for just over £2m, with clauses pushing the deal to £4m, looks like good business if he develops. Bojan Miovski could be the answer for Rangers
Miovski was always a player we wanted at Ibrox Noise. He had scored goals in the SPL and caused Rangers problems before. He is still young, powerful, and quick. The gamble was whether he could handle the pressure of the Rangers shirt. His struggles in Spain with Girona had raised doubts.
Against Celtic, Miovski showed pace, strength, and good movement. Yet he had no service to work with. He did not register a shot. That was not down to him. Rangers’ midfield never found his feet or his runs. The lack of supply made him look isolated, but he never looked overawed.
Miovski offers something different. He is tall, physical, and quick enough to stretch defences. Rangers lacked that blend in attack. With proper service, he can score at all levels for the club. His debut showed promise without delivering end product, and that will only come when chances are created for him.
This deal was close to a try-before-you-buy arrangement. The £2m fee rising to £4m reflects cautious investment. He now needs to prove his worth by hitting the net. If he does, the add-ons will be a price worth paying. For now, Rangers fans can see why we wanted him, and why he could grow into the shirt. Bojan Miovski could be the answer for Rangers.
