North Curve Celtic posted an update on social media this morning reflecting on the reasons why the Celtic ultras decided to attend the Lowland League match between Cowdenbeath and Celtic B team on Saturday afternoon at Central Park.

The game ended in disappointment with the home side grabbing a late winner in a 2-1 victory but the young Hoops side certainly got some unexpected and most welcome backing from the Green Brigade and Bhoys Celtic.

“With the increasing difficulty to access away tickets, collective bans and an all round hostile environment towards supporters at most matches, the Celtic ultras scene attended Cowdenbeath v Celtic B on Saturday which was a welcome relief from the typical matchday experience,” North Curve Celtic stated.

Here’s a closer look at the four photos that North Curve Celtic released today.

The Green Brigade were issued with a six match ban by the club after an alleged incident that occurred at the match against Falkirk at Celtic Park earlier this month. Police raids were carried out at the home addresses of three of the ultras last week, with one as we know of, being charged with a breach of the peace.

Celtic’s next match is in Rotterdam against Feyenoord on Thursday night. The Dutch side ironically enough will have a stand closed as a punishment imposed by UEFA. It remains to be seen whether the two Celtic ultras groups travel to the Netherlands for the Europa League match but you certainly wouldn’t bet against it.
