Palmeiras stayed in Paraguay after beating Cerro Porteño 1-0 on Wednesday to reach the Libertadores quarter-finals, then trained the next morning.

According to Globo.com, the session took place at Conmebol’s facilities in Paraguay. Later, head coach Abel visited the confederation’s headquarters, where he received replicas of the Libertadores and Recopa Sudamericana trophies won by Palmeiras.

The starters from the decisive night at the Nueva Olla remained at the hotel for recovery work. The others trained on the pitch, focusing on duels and small-sided games.

Andreas Pereira, Khellven, Paulinho and Sosa did not travel, staying in Brazil for physical recovery at the Academia de Futebol.

The squad and staff are due back in Brazil on Thursday. Two further sessions at the club’s training centre will precede Sunday’s 16:00 meeting with Vasco at Nubank Parque.

The club are also handling interest from City in Allan.
