AC Milan ‘evaluating’ cut-price January move for Nottingham Forest’s Nikola Milenkovic | OneFootball

Calciomercato reports that AC Milan are evaluating a January move for Nottingham Forest defender Nikola Milenkovic, viewing the 28-year-old as a cheaper alternative to Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio, who is priced at about €40 million. Milenkovic is said to be valued at around €28 million (£24m).

The report also states Milan head coach Ruben Amorim admires the Serbia international, who is under contract at Forest until 2029. Milan already have Omari Hutchinson on loan from Forest, with an option to buy.

Milenkovic missed Saturday’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa due to a hamstring problem but has otherwise been a regular since joining from Fiorentina in 2024, making close to 100 appearances.

Whether Forest would entertain a sale in January is unclear, particularly with centre-back depth already thin. Strengthening that area could be a priority when the window opens.

Morato and Zach Abbott departed on deadline day on loan, and injuries to Milenkovic and Jair Cunha at Villa Park further tested Oliver Glasner’s options.

Ola Aina filled the right-sided role in the back three, while Ousmane Diomande started centrally in Milenkovic’s usual slot for his first Premier League start.

After the match, Glasner ruled Milenkovic out of facing Coventry City next weekend. Hopes remain he could return after the international break for the trip to Crystal Palace.
