The 2024-25 season has brought recognition to several PSG players after the squad won the treble, including the club’s first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy.
Achraf Hakimi was the latest player from the Parisians to have his efforts from last season. On Wednesday evening in Rabat, Morocco, the CAF Awards 2025 ceremony offered little suspense about who would win.
Hakimi was the clear favorite for African Player of the Year 2025, and claimed the award after an extraordinary 2024-2025 season with PSG.

Hakimi was honored for a season in which he won five titles, including PSG’s first Champions League, while contributing 11 goals and 16 assists. He was up against Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray, but the Parisian right-back’s achievements made him the obvious choice.
Moreover, the award, the first of Hakimi’s career, was presented in front of his family and PSG president Nasser al-Khelaïfi, who attended the ceremony in person. Hakimi succeeds 2024 winner Ademola Lookman.
As a result of Hakimi’s honor, several PSG players have been recognized with individual awards, including the Ballon d’Or (Ousmane Dembélé), the Golden Boy (Désiré Doué), and the best Asian player abroad (Lee Kang-In).
