The French Supreme Court confirmed on Wednesday the referral of Achraf Hakimi to a criminal trial over a rape allegation dating to 2023.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the court rejected an appeal by the Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco defender’s lawyers against a 19 June ruling by the Versailles Court of Appeal, delivered during the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The decision leaves the player with no further legal recourse to avoid appearing in the dock.
The complaint alleges the incident took place at Hakimi’s home in Boulogne-Billancourt, on the outskirts of Paris.
Hakimi has consistently denied the accusation.
