France’s Supreme Court has confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain player Achraf Hakimi will stand trial for rape.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the decision follows an appeal by the player’s defence that sought to have the case dismissed.

Hakimi has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman during an encounter in Paris earlier this year.

The trial will take place in the coming months.

If convicted, the player faces a possible prison sentence of several years.
