Adzic insists he should have been given more game time at Juventus | OneFootball

Vasilije Adzic came back to haunt Juventus after facing the Bianconeri with Sassuolo at the weekend, with the midfielder suggesting he deserved more opportunities during his time in Turin.

Adzic scored a fantastic and important goal against Inter Milan last season, but that effort did not result in many more chances at Juventus. Despite making an impact when called upon, he remained without a regular role in the squad.

When Luciano Spalletti arrived as manager, the gaffer did not fancy Adzic, allowing him to leave on loan this term. Sassuolo also have an option to buy him permanently in the summer, giving the player an opportunity to establish himself away from Turin.

Adzic Making His Case

Judging by the way he has performed so far, it would be a surprise if the black and greens did not make the move permanent. His performances have provided him with the platform to show what he can offer when given regular opportunities.

At Juventus, Adzic competed for a place against much better players, but he believes he should have been used more often. The Bianconeri had plenty of options available, making regular appearances difficult to secure.

Juve also did not believe Adzic was mature enough for a bigger role, although his loan spell is revealing the opposite. Regular football has allowed him to demonstrate his ability and continue his development.

Adzic Reflects On Juventus

The midfielder could end the season with double figures if he maintains his current form. He also accepts that selection decisions were not within his control, while believing he could have contributed more had he been given additional opportunities.

Speaking via Tuttojuve, Adzic explained why moving to Sassuolo was the sensible decision for his development.

“Maybe at Juve I could have played a little more, or at least I hoped so. Maybe I even deserved it, but these are not decisions that are up to me, so that’s fine. At Juventus, I had several good games, and the path I’m on, the decision to come to Sassuolo to get more playing time and prove my worth, was the most sensible choice. Now I intend to give everything for this club.”

His performances could now convince Sassuolo to make his move permanent in the summer.
