Cameroon has decided to move forward without their star goalkeeper André Onana for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).
The new head coach of the "Indomitable Lions," David Pagou, has opted to place his trust in other goalkeepers: Devis Epassy (Dinamo Bucharest), Simon Omossola (Saint-Éloi Lupopo), Simon Ngapandouetnbu (Montpellier), and Edouard Sombang (Colombe Sport).
Barring a major surprise, Devis Epassy is expected to take over as the number one goalkeeper at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), having spent recent years completely blocked by André Onana.
Trained in France, Epassy has built an eclectic career with stints at Stade Rennais, Lorient, CD Guijuelo, US Avranches, SAS Epinal, APO Levadiakos, OFI Crete, Abha, Karmiotissa, and FC Dinamo.
This season, he's featured in 12 matches, conceding 11 goals and recording 5 clean sheets.
With the Indomitable Lions, he has played 10 matches, including his latest outing last June against Equatorial Guinea (1-1).
