In recent days, rumors about the postponement of AFCON 2027 have been making waves in the media. But it turns out, they're completely unfounded.

Contrary to speculation, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reaffirmed that AFCON 2027 will go ahead as originally scheduled. According to journalist Micky Jnr, reports of a delayed tournament have no basis in fact.

Tanzania and Uganda have already taken a decisive step by each depositing $30 million into CAF's accounts. This payment meets the banking guarantees and strict requirements imposed on co-host nations for organizing the competition. As for Kenya, the third pillar of this joint bid, the transfer of its financial contribution is currently pending.

Kenyan authorities are keen to reassure everyone. The finalization process is underway and the payment is expected to be completed soon, ensuring the country’s full participation in this major sporting event.
