The Confederation of African Football has ended speculation, confirming in a statement that the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will feature 24 teams, the same as in 2025.
There will be no expansion to 28 sides, with the competition retaining its current format.
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will co-host the finals, which are scheduled for June and July 2027.
Qualifying begins in the first international window of the 2026-27 season, between 21 September and 6 October.
The top two teams from each of the 12 groups will reach the tournament, with the qualification phase due to conclude in March 2027.
