Motsepe confirmed the next edition will take place in 2027 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda as planned.

Another tournament will be staged in 2028, after which the competition is set to settle into a four-year cycle.

From 2029, CAF will also launch a Nations League, a biennial tournament involving 16 teams.
