Lazio are determined to remain sharp and active during the long international break, so they’ll be playing friendly tests against Serie B opponents.

The only failed to beat AC Milan, as despite a two-goal lead by half-time, they ended up settling for a 2-2 draw. Gennaro Gattuso’s men currently sit third in the table, level on points with league leaders Roma and defending champions Inter Milan, who only boast a superior goal difference.

Lazio Will Host Arezzo This Sunday

The Biancocelesti will resume their campaign on October 11 with a home fixture against Monza, and Gattuso is keen to preserve the current momentum. Therefore, the team will take part in two friendlies over the next two weekends. The club had already confirmed they will host Arezzo at the Formello Training Centre this Sunday.

Lazio vs Arezzo Behind Closed Doors

While previous reports suggested the club could allow Lazio supporters (who aren’t part of the protesting organised fan groups) to attend the fixture, Il Corriere dello Sport reveals the contest will take place behind closed doors. The game will kick off at 15:00 CET and will be broadcast on the club’s official YouTube channel.

Lazio to Play Juve Stabia After Arezzo

The Roman newspaper also reveals that Juve Stabia will be Lazio’s second opponent. While the official announcement has yet to arrive, the two sides are expected to meet the following weekend (October 3 or 4).

The Lazio management shares a good rapport with Juve Stabia’s, conducting multiple deals in recent years. Romano Floriani Mussolini spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at the Serie B club. Young Lazio winger Sana Fernandes is currently part of Pietro De Giorgio’s squad.

Lazio Counting on Returning Players

Gattuso will be without eight international players for the two upcoming friendlies, but he’ll be hoping to recover Danilo Cataldi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Adam Marusic, while awaiting Nicolo Rovella’s MRI tests to set a return date.
