Leeds United missed out on Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace in January, and the striker’s agent has suggested some clubs needed to sell before buying. This, he indicated, may have affected Leeds’ pursuit.

Palace clinched a deadline-day agreement while Leeds concluded the window with one signing, Facundo Buonanotte on loan.

"Things like this are worked on all year round. 365 days. Strikers who are 'Premier League proof' do not grow on trees," said agent Tore Pedersen, speaking to VG.

"Some show interest, others are more interested. Some are dependent on selling before they buy. That is the market."

Daniel Farke’s side beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 on Friday night and sit nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Farke said a quiet January is usually a positive, noting clubs in good positions rarely make many mid-season changes.

He noted Jack Harrison left on loan at his request after limited minutes, Harry Gray was sent out to play regularly, and Buonanotte arrived on loan. Farke added he is confident this group can finish the Premier League job and push on in the FA Cup.
