Mike Verweij has revealed the details of Ajax’s sale of Raul Moro to Osasuna. The winger will leave the club for €8m, with Ajax also having agreed a resale percentage as part of the transfer. There had been an option for Ajax to have 50% of the sell on fee for Moro, yet this would have come with a transfer fee of €6m. In the end, Ajax look to have gone with the larger upfront fee instead of risking a reduced fee or even nothing if Moro leaves Osasuna for nothing at the end of his contract.
Moro returns to La Liga having only left Spanish football in the summer. Ajax had brought Moro in from Real Valladolid, but after 21 appearances and one goal, he is joining Osasuna. Despite only being 23, Moro has played for a number of clubs during his career. Moro began in the Barcelona academy before joining Lazio in 2020. He played 20 games for the Serie A side, while also enjoying loan spells with Ternana, Real Oviedo and Real Valladolid. After 31 games for the latter during the 2023/2024 season, he made the move permanent the following summer.
During the 2024/2025 season, Real Valladolid were relegated form La Liga, with Moro playing 34 games, scoring five goals and providing six assists. He now leaves Ajax for an Osasuna side that sit 12th in La Liga, with 22 points from 20 games.
Ajax are looking to be active in the transfer window, with Oleksandr Zinchenko and JP Chermont on their radar.
