Cornelius had been close to joining Rayo Vallecano, but that move was blocked due to a lack of agreement.

He spent last season on loan at Rangers, making 12 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He could still leave Marseille in the coming days.

Signed in summer 2024, he has made 26 appearances for Marseille in all competitions. He has 48 caps and one goal for Canada, and featured at the last World Cup.
