Corinthians have an agreement in place to sign 21-year-old Kaio César from Al-Hilal on a one-year loan, although his trip to São Paulo has been delayed at the Saudi club’s request amid absences.
"Everything is agreed with Corinthians. Everyone knows my wish. Now it is just a case of waiting a bit and controlling the anxiety," he told Canal Goat after the 4-1 win over Al-Fayha on Thursday.
"I am still wearing the Al-Hilal shirt, so I have to respect the club I am at," he said. "Until my last day here, I will defend this shirt with great respect."
He came on in the 79th minute for Darwin Núñez and completed six of seven passes plus one dribble at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
He is expected to remain available until Sunday when Al-Hilal face Al-Riyadh in the Saudi league, with the squad managing key absences after the Africa Cup of Nations. He remains available to Simone Inzaghi for that fixture.
He is due to travel to São Paulo next week for medical tests at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava before signing and any announcement.
The loan includes an option to buy set at 6 million euros for 50 percent of his economic rights, with Corinthians covering his wages. He is under contract with Al-Hilal until June 2028.
Without him, Dorival Júnior’s side visit Santos at 19:30 on Thursday at Vila Belmiro in the fourth round of the Campeonato Paulista.
