ALAJUELA, Costa Rica – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with LD Alajuelense and CSD Xelajú MC drawing 1-1 in the First Leg of the Final on Wednesday at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

LD Alajuelense had an early chance to take the lead in the 13’, but Joel Campbell’s attempt from the penalty spot was saved by Xelajú goalkeeper Rubén Darío Silva

Celso Borges was in charge of another penalty attempt for the hosts, in the 31’, with Silva once again making a vital stop.

Xelajú broke the deadlock to take the lead in the 53’ through a converted penalty from Jesús López

La Liga found the equalizer through Ronaldo Cisneros in the 67’, striking from close range to capitalize on a delivery from Anthony Hernández.

CSD Xelajú MC will look to close the series at home, while defending champions LD Alajuelense will aim for an away victory, when the sides meet for the Second Leg next Wednesday at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
