According to RMC Sport, Alberth Elis (28) continues to make his recovery after suffering severe head trauma while playing for FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
On the 24th of February, Elis and EA Guingamp’s Donatien Gomis (29) clashed heads. Elis received treatment on the pitch for eight minutes before being taken off the pitch where he further tests were administered within the stadium.
The forward was soon rushed to hospital where he was placed into an induced coma. On the 28th of February, his family provided an update to confirm that Elis had awoken from the coma. Since then he has been making gradual progress, although a cautionary approach remains in place while he continues his treatment.
He is slowly regaining mobility and his use of speech and last week received several visits from his teammates, while from his hospital bed he has been able to watch the team in their matches against Rodez AF and US Quevilly-Rouen.
