Alberto Moreno has formally offered to return to Sevilla this summer, according to La Colina De Nervion. The option is not in the immediate plans of sporting chief José Ignacio Navarro, with Gabriel Suazo, Adrià Pedrosa and academy prospect Oso already in place.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at Como 1907, so he could arrive on a free. That would suit Sevilla's cost-cutting stance, underlined by the free arrivals of Jon Guridi and Juan Iglesias.
Moreno emerged at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán under Unai Emery and lifted the Europa League in 2014. He then joined Liverpool in a €18 million deal before moving to Villarreal, and has since played in Serie A, helping Cesc Fàbregas's side reach the Champions League with a historic qualification.
An attack-minded wing-back with top-level experience, he could add know-how to Luis García Plaza's dressing room. Any return would depend on prior departures in his position.
The key factors are Pedrosa and, especially, Oso, who is admired by Real Sociedad and is the subject of a proposal worth 6 million euros plus Javi López. If that move materialises, a vacancy would open up.
Meanwhile, Sevilla are focused on recruiting a new goalkeeper and on the official announcement of Arouna Sangante.
