The fullback Alejandro Balde is one of the FC Barcelona players who has remained in the headlines a lot because of the increasing uncertainty about his future at the Blaugrana club.
The Spaniard was not even named in the squad for the first game of the new season against Elche, in which the newly signed Joao Cancelo started on the left-back position. Before that, Hansi Flick also asked the player to carefully consider his options while telling the media that he had not asked him to leave.
According to SPORT, these developments in the last few days have left Balde quite disappointed with the club. This disappointment has come not only because of the lack of prominence he is set to have in Flick’s plans, but mainly because of the timing of how his case is being handled by the club.
The Spanish outlet cites El Pais to claim that the defender had rejected several important offers during the summer, as he wanted to continue at the Catalan club and believed he could be an important player for Flick. Now, with only a week left until the end of the summer transfer window, he does not understand why the club has changed its mind about him at just this point in time.
One action of the German coach that particularly bothered Balde was Xavi Espart training as a left-back in the last session before the opening game of the season against Elche. This would normally not have been such a surprise to him, as he had already lost his starting spot to Joao Cancelo last season, but the timing of this action, with almost the entire summer transfer window already gone, concerned the defender.
